So three guys walk into a bar. Ouch. The walk past the bar into a restaurant, where they spend $27. If they wanted to pay completely in dimes, placing stacks of dimes on each sixth 3/1(pie[blueberry]) radian of the table, going counterclockwise, how many dimes would be in the fifth stack?

There are three men staying in a motel, and they give the guy behind the desk at the motel 10 dollars each to order them some pizza.

When the pizza is delivered, the bill is only 25 dollars.
Because he can't be bothered fnding change, the guy behind the desk gives them one dollar back each, and pockets the remaining two dollars himself.

Each of the guys has now paid 9 dollars ( having given him 10 dollars in the first place, and getting 1 back with their pizza ), which comes to 27 dollars. The guy behind the desk has the 2 dollars that he pocketed. The 27 dollars paid by the three men and the 2 dollars he pocketed come to a total of 29 dollars.

Where is the other dollar from the original 30 ?

Terrible if you ask me, the "two dollars he pocketed" is counted twice and the 3 he gave back isn't counted.

The "where is the dollar to make it $30" is the misleading part.
$25 for the pizza + $2 dollars in the clerck's pocket = ($10-$1) * 3
$25 for the pizza + $2 dollars in the clerck's pocket =$27

the wording in the riddle is wrong

amount given to clerk=30

bill for pizza=25
amount left over=5
one dollar back to each=3
(25+3 is 28 not 27 as the riddle states)
amount pocketed by clerk=2

total=30

They spent $27, $2 of which went to the clerk, $25 was for pizza. There is no reason you would ADD the $2 to the $27.

uhm every time i count it i get $30. 25+2+3=30 there is NO extra dollar. maybe im reading it wrong. odd.

oh wait. i see. they say 27 is what they paid then the guy took 2. so 27+2=29 but the bill was only 25 so that leaves 2 left over for the guy to take.

either way that is a crappy riddle.
