I just saw his chips commercial. It's kind of sad. It makes me wonder if he's run out of money or something.

I remember when he was funny on SNL back in tha day.

He could still be funny but now he's doing stuff for his kids I think, so we wouldn't find it funny.

nope, he used to be funny as hell.
I saw a little of that last movie he was in (where he dresses up like different things) and it was freakin horrible.

I wonder if the kids even find him funny? And why would he be doing that schtick to sell chips?

Yeah I guess without the SNL writers and Mike Myers he had no funny.

Phil Hartman, now he's the man...

Dana Carvey never made anything worthwhile outside of SNL. He's had several failed movies (where he was the lead), sitcoms, etc. The only thing successful he did outside of SNL was Wayne's World.

I caught his movie "master of disguise" on cable the other day, and all I can say is... That was one of the very worst movie I have ever seen. I want my 90 minutes back ...

I think it was supposed to be a kid's movie. It was G.

That being said, the only remotely funny part was the "Turtle, turtle" part.

He was my favorite cast member on SNL back when they had that great crew in the late 80s/early 90s (along with Phil Hartman - those were some of the best years for SNL imo.) He was one of the most versatile characters they had who had a sort of an 'everyman' look that worked in tons of different scenes. It's sad his career never really prospered outside of SNL. If anything, I think he was simply TOO mainstream and didn't have an edge or gimmicky personality like other SNL members that made them standout once they were on their own.

And I agree that that Master of Disguise movie was painful. Then again, I'm about 22 years older than their target audience and I'm only 27.
