and have a crap load of troubles this past week??

as to just complete disconnection and what not.

Yes. Even when it works, it only works for a few minutes, then "network cable disconnected". I've called three times and was dumped each time ("all reps are busy", and then dialtone).

We have it where I work, and I know exactly what's going on, or at least exactly what they say they're doing.

Almost everything you need to know right there. What's not there you can chat with a guy online to find out.

Basically, they're doing really massive upgrades to their backbone system which takes you down intermittently. One of the things that has affected us most is that their SMTP server is down, so the only way to send mail is through Webmail. They also change your IP every few hours, so don't forget to reset your cable modem and router whenever you go out, that may be all it takes to get back on.

Trust me, you're not the only one. Most of northern KY has been affected in some way. They're into 'Stage 3' now, but anticipate it taking until Monday to complete.
