Does anybody actually pay for HBO? Is it worth $18/mo?

After promotional trials are over, HBO is $18/mo O_O

So, who here actually subscribes? Is there other compelling content beyond GoT if you already have AMZ Prime / Netflix?

As an ATOT baller WTF is $18? I tip the bellhop at least $100 and that is just for par service.

Now if I wasn't an ATOT baller I doubt that the very few shows I wanted to watch on HBO would be worth over $200 a year and might find alternative methods to watch.

As Prime and Netflix rarely get any decent/good movies - with HBO, at least you get around 10-new movies a month. Bladerunner, Dunkirk, American Made, Kong, Fate ot Furious, Fist Fight, War of the Apes, Great Wall, Get Out.

Kingsman, IT, and Justice League coming up.

Whats Amazon & Netflix got? Shitty Sandler direct to video movies!

If it wasn't included in my base cable package i wouldn't pay for it long term. Maybe a month or two for GoT or Westworld but that'd be it

I just use my friends HBO Go account and watch things through my PS4. All I've watched the past 4 years though is GoT and Silicon Valley.

Is it worth that?
i've kept it for over a year, but meant to cancel when the only new thing i was watching was john oliver (no westworld, no got). i don't watch enough movies. hbo's catalog is different from netflix's is different from amazon.

i should probably mainline sopranos

$18/month will net you a nice CD or two albums off bandcamp, a bunch better use of your money, time, and brain than TV.

HBO Go is only $15 a month. I use it a few months out of the year to watch Silicon Valley and Westworld, and then I turn it back off.

Yeah, Go through Fire Tv is what I do. $15 a month. Worth it for Westworld, Silicon Valley, GoT (when it comes back on). I also dug The Deuce, but not sure if it's getting a second season. Movie selection is 'iffy. But there's a decent enough overlap with what Netflix doesn't have that I find value in it.

All streaming services suck when you have finished the few shows and movies that you want to see. I can't believe how fragmented the streaming space has gotten.
1. Netflix
2. HBO
3. Hulu
4. Amazon
5. Starz
6. Epix
7. Showtime

Did I forget any?

Hulu supposedly has it for another $5/mo as a limited deal. 3 months I think. I got it through my college for free though, and now I'm too broke to buy it so I just wait the extra hour and a half.

Thinking of buying it or figuring out a free trial for the Westworld finale. I want that right away.
