Does any one know about the legend of "Gloomy Sunday"?

Supposedly, this is a song that a guy wrote for his ex-wife, and after hearing it, she committed suicide. There after, there were people all over that committed suicide after they heard that song. Who was the artist?

Also, search on google. first few links are exactly what you're looking for.

I'm searching for the actual audio file, I want to hear this song. If I stop posting and dissappear, drink a  for me and call the cops.

Sunday is gloomy
My hours are slumberless
Dearest the shadows
I live with are numberless
Little white flowers
Will never awaken you
Not where the black coach
Of sorrow has taken you
Angels have no thoughts
Of ever returning you
Would they be angry
If I thought of joining you?

Gloomy Sunday

Gloomy is Sunday
With shadows I spend it all
My heart and I
Have decided to end it all
Soon there'll be candles
And prayers that are said I know
But let them not weep
Let them know that I'm glad to go
Death is no dream
For in death I'm caressing you
With the last breath of my soul
I'll be blessing you

Gloomy Sunday

Dreaming, I was only dreaming
I wake and I find you asleep
In the deep of my heart here
Darling I hope
That my dream never haunted you
My heart is telling you
How much I wanted you

Gloomy Sunday

   🙁

Yeah I can find the lyrics all over the place, but I can't find an mp3

My roommate was reading about this once. He read that it was banned from being played on the radio because too many people committed suicide after hearing it.

Well, it's Sunday, and it's gloomy where I'm at. Here's a lighter note

"Also, if you're from the RIAA, I have no knowledge of the meaning of the word 'copyright' and, anyway, I live in China." = pwns 😛
