Does anti Glare work ?

Does anyone here use anti glare filters for their moniters ? What are your comments on them or suggestions ?

you shouldn't need it if you have a good flat monitor..

I have a CRT 17" monitor... always wanted to get an anti-glare thinggy, but I seem to never get around to it.

One of these days I need to get one -- hopefully it'll hinder the steady deterioration of my vision.

my monitor already has an anti-glare coating on it. It reflects a lot less light than any other monitor i've used.

my monitor has less glare without the anti glare filter...so whats the benefit of having one ?

You mean when you add a glare filter, it emits MORE glare?

hmm. i think i've got it wrong. When I put the anti glare thing on, the glare thing is shinyier then my actually monitor. almost like a mirror, ITs also darker and not as bright. Whats the use of it ?
