Does anthing under $30 outperform Intel's built-in graphics?

I have an Intel G33 motherboard that has an analog and DVI-D (digital only) connector.

At first I have only one monitor, connecting to analong or DVI-D is no problem. Now I have 2 monitors, so one have to be on analog and the other on DVI-D.

Now the problem is, whenever the one connected on DVI-D was switched off or went into sleep mode, it lost the signal. The whole system can't find the monitor anymore and reconfigure itself and become one monitor system, and sometime it even go back to 800x600.

If there is only one monitor, either on analog or DVI-D, no problem at all.

After searching Goolge, it seems that I have to either buy a DVI Detective device about $50 (http://www.amazon.com/Gefen-EX...tective/dp/B0002CZJ8O) so it can retain the signal, or DVI-D to VGA converter that cost over $250 and turn DVI-D to analog signal.

My question is, can anything under $30 that has DVI-I (which I can convert to analog with a simple DVI-I to VGA converter so I don't lost signal) beats Intel graphics and also solve my problem?

I don't play games. All I need is smooth multiple monitor supports.

Any suggestion? Thanks!

P.S. I already downloaded Intel latest graphics driver.
