Does AMD Barton CPU needs special MB?

You need to have 166 MHz front side bus support, and a BIOS that knows the Barton. Epox are maintaining CPU compatibility charts. Go check those on www.epox.com
 
Well, as long as it supports the proper voltage, it would work even if there's no 166 FSB. I had a problem with a system where it could not do the 166fsb, so instead I let it run at 133, but I upped the multiplier so that there was the equilivant performance.
