Does adding memory to a laser printer speed it up?

I've got a Samsung ML-2250 laser printer at work. If I'm printing multiple copies of the same single-page document, after the first one prints the other copies are printed quickly with no delay between sheets. But if I'm printing a document with multiple pages, there is a delay of a few seconds between each page. This printer comes with 16 MB of memory and is expandable up to 144 MB. Would adding memory speed up the time it takes between pages?

Lasers are page printers. More memory can sometimes make the difference between printing a complete page or a partial page. It really is aparent when you are primting high res graphics and the page "weight" is greater than your on-board memory. It won't change a lot of the time between pages for normal text.

I'd think that if the memory could hold more than one page image at a time then it would only have to pause every other page or maybe less often. Of course, the more graphics on a page, the more memory each page takes up.

The memory has no effect on print times per and between pages. Thats all in how fast the mechanics of the printer are able to work.

But 16mb is enough for a huge number of pages even if those pages include color images. More memory would only be needed if the printer was on a large server and had to be able to handle a large number of different print jobs being sent to it.
