Does adaptor socket-370 to slot 1 can affect my performance ?

i have Asus P3V4X and need to but a PIII 667

need to know if i'm buying socket 370 you think it can affect my performance ? my motherboard is slot-1

And if i'm buying asus converter it is best to minimize performance problem cause converter ?

The slocket per se should not hurt performance if it is a good one. Search the forums on this - there have been long threads on this topic.
