Does Acer make good cdrw's?

I am looking at buying a ACER 8x4x32 Internal EIDE CRW8432A. Do any of you have any experience with Acer products, and if so, do they make good cdrws?

RICOH make pretty good CDRWs. I have one from RICOH, the model is MP9060A, internal drive with DVD on it as well. I think it is 1X, 4X, 24X. But it is actually faster than my 32X CDROM from ACER. Price on it is pretty good as well. I bought one about 3 months ago in COMPUSA for under $200.

Its well worth spending a bit more on a Plex or Ricoh or TDK..... You can pick up a 8x4x32 for less than $150... I think buy.com has them for 143 + free S&H.

For sure stay away from Acer stuff. Their stuff just seems to create problems.

For good CDRWs go with a brand like Plextor or Ricoh.

I don't know about everyone else, but I've dealt with a few Acer and Aopen CDRW's and never had a problem. A 4x4x20 Aopen, a 4x4x32 Acer, the same burner he talks about (one with an 8mb buffer) and a 12x Acer. Never had problems with any of them.

Well, I have a 24x acer cd-rom which is very loud and make whole system shudder when it reaches high speed. But it's been very reliable. Quility is not really their strong point, but it's not rubbish either. Personally, I would pay lil more to get a better product.

Acer CDRW can suck my ....err actually I wouldnt even do that with them.
I guess they pretty much are no good(talking from experiance) went through about $200 in coasters till i got my HP.
HP lovin baby 🙂
