Does Abit KA7 have compatability probs with Creative 52x CDROM?

Does anyone know if there is a compatablility problem with a Creative Labs 52x CDROM and the IDE controller on an Abit KA7?

I have it running on the secondary IDE controller as master. I have installed the updated ATAPI drivers from the Abit CD from a different drive
(4x Reveal), so I know the controller works. Windows 98 recognizes that the drive is there and loads the right driver, but I can not read from the drive.

I've given up on the Creative 52X CD-Roms. I've put two in systems and they've both been defective. The just seem to open at random times and the problem comes and goes. The first one would even open while I was in the BIOS! Have you tried a different CD-Rom? Let me know the outcome, I'm curios if it is another bad drive.

I'm using KA7 and the Creative Labs 52X cd-rom with no problems. You
might want to try and download 4in1 drivers from viatech.com That
could help.
