Does a pc need an adapter for a wireless-n router?

To work as Wireless a computer needs Wireless Card.

To work with Draft-N Wireless it needs a raft-N Card.

It depends on your laptop and how you want to use it. These days most laptops have built-in wired networking and 802.11g wireless. Either of these could be used with a typical draft-n router.

Of course if you want to use draft-n wireless on a laptop without draft-n support, you have to get an adapter.

If you have an older laptop with only 802.11b wireless, it'd advisable to upgrade to 802.11g at least so that you can use WPA or higher security (with a long randomized passkey).
