Does a messy house bother you?

Look at this picture of the house I'm currently staying in (I move out into my own apartment July 1st thankfully)

Picture

Now I'm sure the first thing people would think is "You probably just didn't clean up after a party"... Not the case though (if it was, I wouldn't mind).

Every single counter, table, chair and flat surface looks like this 24/7/365 unless I clean up. After I clean, it takes less than 48 hours to revert back to it's former self.

I don't understand how people live like this. It's absolutely disgusting. When I ask my roommates about it, they just shrug it off and say "there are more important things in life to worry about".

What a bunch of cockroaches!

Agreed. I have two roommates, and one of them is a slob like this. After a while, we just gave up and started cleaning up after him. Fortunately, he'll be leaving in September.

Yes, it does. My moto is that if something should go some place just do it right the first time and take care of it. Don't let a mess build up because it takes more time to take care of it all.

I could easily live like that, but my wife hates it. So I try hard not to get that bad, although I'll never be spotless.

I'm a little lazy when it comes to stuff like washing the floors or vacuming, but I try and keep my counters/tables cleaned off of clutter, especially when it comes to foodstuffs that might attract bugs.

That's not so bad. I'd prefer it to be clean, but it's not going to bother me enough to make me clean up somebody else's crap.

That would piss me off. One of the main reasons I moved was because of a slob roommate like that. I don't understand it at all. I can't wait until I can afford to live by myself.

That doesn't look bad to me. There's still lots of room on the counter.

As I get older that kind of stuff annoys me more and more, which is funny cause I was a huge slob for years..

My living space is like that, but I always try to keep common areas clean. I can't stand having common areas like that.

That would annoy me. I hate cleaning, but I DO go around my place and just toss things into the garbage. It takes minimal effort and makes it look clean fast.

My wife is anal as hell about keeping things clean and orderly. Sometimes I'll take stuff out to cook dinner and I'll turn around and it will be gone...drives me nuts. At least she's learned to ask me if I'm done with this before she puts stuff away.

Yes, that would absolutely bother me. Seriously, it takes so little effort to clean up after yourself.

Ah yes, that looks familiar.

It's not like the stuff is going to attract ants, as I don't leave food items cluttered around, and I almost never have visitors.
