Hi!

According to a Apple Mac magazine, Macworld, Article here, the HP 3600n Color laser printer was given 3.5 mices out of 5. The article states that as tested, the price was 699.00. Currently, its on sale was 249.00 .

The unit was originally manufactured back in 2005, and the main concern was that the test printing in black was a bit on the light saide, but the article mentions that HP will be working on a driver fix for this. The current driver is:
version 61.063.461.41 dated 1 Jan 2008. The readme file doesn't mention a plain english fix for the light printing unless this was resolve some time ago.

Does anyone know the current state of the HP Color Laserjet 3600n and if it still is plagued with the original problems it had?

Lastly, does the fact the laserjet printer being on sale for 249.00 make this a good buy?

The box states it comes with full sized toner cartidges, that being 6000 pages for black, and 4000 each for each of the colored toners; cyan, magenta, yellow.

The specifications on the printer are here .

They're pretty reliable printers, color printing is alright. I'm not sure I'd want one at home since they're big, heavy and produce alot of heat. Toner is also expensive...

But 250$ is less than what the 4 toners would cost separately, so it's a good deal.

That thing is huge! But for $250 I think it's a steal. I know with a lot of smaller laserjet printers it's easier to just replace the entire printer than buy new toner (as Spicedaddy mentioned, it usually costs more for ink too than the printer itself).

How much use are you thinking of putting it through? I bought a brother laser printer about a year and a half ago, and I'm still on the toner that came with it. :)

The HP Officejet I have has advanced settings where you can adjust the ink volume delivered and the overspray - the default settings are on the ink saving end of the scale... IDK if the lasers have something like that as well.
