Does a low budget gaming laptop exist?

I need to get a PC that can play games. I think my current desktop is a lost cause as far as upgrading because it is so old.

Since I have many other expensive habits there is no way I can buy or build a new PC.

However, my wife also needs a new laptop for her school work. So.....I figured why not buy one that can also play games?

I do not need anything op of the line, in fact I want it as cheaply as possible.

I am seeing several laptops advertised as "gaming" laptops on ebay in the $200-$300 range.

I want something like that but I do not trust people on ebay. With my luck I would buy their "gaming" laptop and it wouldn't play the game or something.

So the budget I guess is under $400. What do you all recommend? Is this possible.

The game I want to play is being made on Unreal 4 although no specs have been released for this game I am told most mid grade PC's will play it.

It will be a bre bones game similar to Counterstrike.

If you want gaming under $400, you dont want a laptop. For what reason do you need it to be a laptop? They arent portable at all since

a) Gaming for long periods of time on a laptop screen really sucks, so you'll probably end up feeding it into a proper 22-24" monitor. So that's one cord right there.
b) Gaming drains a battery so fast that it will always need to be plugged in. So that's another cord.
c) You'll probably want a keyboard and mouse too so that is two more cords. Either that or you have to deal with dongles and batteries.

Since you have to deal with all that stuff regardless I dont see the point of a laptop except that it costs a LOT more for the same performance.

I can't afford to build a new computer but i could talk her into a new laptop.

I had already planned on running it to my tv and dont mind a few extra cords.

Just looking to see if there was any used laptops out there for just a few hundred that would play some games.

High end performance will be bulky. You will make your wife have the burden of carrying a laptop three times the size all day just so you can play games. D:

Since you say used though, the price range could be anything.
(ie. $0 - $999999999... depending on what each seller wants/accepts)
