Does a fan speed controller effect led lights (in the fan)?

I would expect it to get dimmer and would sure hope so but I heard that the lights blink when turned down. Is it true?

I have a couple led fans on a controller. They do get a little dimmer, and they do not blink.

Well, having built a fan controller myself, I can tell you that adjusting the voltage of the fan will make the fan's LED dimmer. Also, if you're using a PWM fan controller, be prepared for potential light festival going on when you aren't running at full speed. The fan controller you linked to looks like a simple potentiometer that adjusts the voltage supplied to the fan, so in this case, you don't need to worry about blinking lights.
