Does a 7300GT beat a 6600GT?

Not really sure about the 256MB 7300GT...
How's the performance?
Since 6600GT is a 6-series card and 7300GT is a 7-series card and both are GT, I thought maybe the 7300GT beats the 6600GT.
But I suppose its the other way around....

Can someone compare the 7300GT with its equivalent card?

God I love this chart .

The only thing the 7300GT has going for it by default is it's ability to OC like theres no tomorrow and there are some instances at higher resolutions where it will run games the 6600GT cannot, mainly from its 2567mb frame buffer. 650mhz+ isn't unrealistic to see on the GPU of a 7300GT after an after market cooler. After u overclock it to like 600/800 it should beat a 6600GT not to mention most 7300GT's are 256mb to boot vs a 128mb 6600GT.

The 7300GT runs cooler and uses less power even under OverClocking making it a smarter buy for an HTPC.

thanx..
But then,
Can u also compare the GDDR3 version of 7300GT as compared to the 6600GT?

And are you sure theres' no 256MB version of the 6600GT?

if your only considerations are the 7300gt and 6600gt, get the gddr3 version of the 7300gt; it'll overclock like mad. although, a 7600 series card would be more ideal.

#1. There are 256mb 6600GT's but they are few and far between.

#2. f4phantom2500 is correct in that if you aren't buying a lower priced 7300GT like eVga's $60 256mb version clocked at 350/666 then you should spend the extra $30 - $40 and get a 7600GS.

Sadly theres not enough of a price difference unless you are really strapped to warrant buying the 7300GT over the much much much faster 7600GS.
