I ordered the OEM version from newegg.com which came with ONLY the drivers. I'm almost certain that the retail version doesn't come with a DVD player either... only thing extra is the manual.
Kyro 2 does give hardware DVD support. According to all the tests the Kyro is consistently better than any of the Geforce's when it comes to playing DVD's. CPU utilization is lower and there is onboard hardware decoding for DVD's. A software player is kinda of unimportant.
comes with full retail version of PowerDVD yes though DVD playback is not as good on KYROII as i would like it to be the MSI's is just better.
i just built one for a friend of mine but the 2d and 3d rock tho. I cant wait to see how the radeon LE stacks up to it though best 2d/3d image quality + DVD playback.
I would get a Kyro II or Radeon LE since i read that your eyes are bad in previous posts and not a GF2 unless you plan on doing the 2d hack ie remove the RFI filters (i am afraid to since i no nothing about soldering) but if you think you can do it than i would go with the starforce
How do you get to that conclusion?
Even a hollywood plus needs some software to run.
So it has some DVD functions built in, you still need some software to use those features.
