Does a 30 day warranty mean the CPU is lower quality than one w/1 yr?

If i buy a cpu that only comes with a 30 day warranty...does that make it of lower quality than one with a 1 year warranty?

And, OCing voids the warranty, right? What if I OC and not let them know about it? hehehe :)

Most CPUs with a one year warranty, unless you upgrade the warranty, are retail chips. So theres basicaly no difference except you get a fan/heatsink and a purdy box with a nice warranty, which appeals to most consumers, and you pay more. Where as one with a 30 day warranty is most likely an OEM chip and is noramly intended for resellers to put into systems, thus a lower warranty on the actual chip. So to answer your question, no, it has nothing to do witht he chips quality.

An Intel or AMD CPU is just that. They provide a 3 year warranty for retail products, and the vendor is responsible for warranty, if any on an OEM product. There are no differences, except what the particular vendor puts on the CPU. Sometimes a 1 year warranty CPU will sell at a higher price, than say a 20 or 30 day warranty CPU. The fact is, they are the same CPU.

Overclocking does void warranty. Denying it is dishonest, but that's another story.
