Does 999... = infinity?

deftron

Lifer
Not sure of the formal math symbol,
but does 99999....[recurring] equal infinity?

Or is it the end of the number line or finite numbers, while infnity
is the beginning of beyond the number line, hence infinity?

1111..... equals infinity too ?

No. 9 is our biggest number. You'd say, 10 is, but watch this.
Let's take infinity as 5 (remember, infinity is equal)
10000
99999
Which number is bigger?

The same goes with 1.
11111
99999

I don't think your reasoning is correct.

Wow. That's the dumbest sh!t I've ever read. I actually feel significantly dumber for having read that. Seriously. Do you think our entire knowledge of mathematics would implode if we were to have evolved 12 fingers instead of 10? Man.
