I've visited www.viatech.com and found nothing related with 686b data corruption bug.

I am afraid to buy boards with 686b (to replace my good'n old socket7 board) and somebody told me that this bug has something to do with W2K. I guess I am a little late on the news about this topic...

If you're really afraid of it, you could always get a KT133 board (not a kt133a one) and as far as I know, every one with only ATA66 support had the A chip.

BUT, there are patches now.. some use the bios, some only rely on the Via 4-in-1 drivers to fix the problem. AND the problem mainly happened when using an SBLive.

Since I do use linux half the time, I'm glad they issued a bios fix as well for my Epox board. With as many users using them, I wouldn't worry too much about the problem, if you'd even get it.
