Does 3D Vision benefit from SLI?

I'm interested in buying nvidia's 3D glasses sometime in the future however I'm wondering if 2 separately rendered camera angles would mean much greater flexibility for SLI. Normally SLI doesn't work as well for one title as it does for another but what happens when you throw 3D Vision in the mix? Has nvidia commented about this?

Thanks!

Visit nvidia forum for it. As of now, 3D support SLI, but there seems to be a problem on tri/quad SLI. SLI doesn't mean one card per eye, it will be slower that way.

I have a 295 with the 3D vision and scaling seems fantastic in some games, not so hot in others. In most games you WILL take around a 50% hit to your framerate, so keep that in mind. Unless you're getting over 100fps in games before you turn on 3D it's not worth turning on. You really notice the lack of frame rate in 3D, remember 50fps=25fps each eye. Not enough to make the game appear smooth in 3D. Thankfully with all the console ports out, it's not too much of an issue if you have a fairly decent setup.

Some games however I turn on 3D and only get around 25-30% frame rate loss. No idea if the SLI is just scaling better or what, never really looked to hard into it.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask. I've been playing around with the 3D vision for nearly a year now. It's definitely amazing in some games, not so suited for others.

I've been wondering if the ghosting and after images are problems that somebody like me won't notice - I'm currently using a VW246H (ASUS 24" FullHD) that uses a TN panel. On this image that tomshardware used to test some displays I can't even see the last three shades (252, 253 and 254).

Perhaps I shouldn't be as wary and just go for the current generation of 120 Hz displays...

I'm currently using a Viewsonic VX2268wm (2nd gen 120hz viewsonic) and haven't noticed any ghosting issues with it in 3d or otherwise. It's apparently not the best 120hz out there either.

I took a look at that image you linked, on my screen with the brightness up (for 3D) I can see all but the 254 image. Likely once you factor in the the darkening effect of the glasses it would be visible. Also if you're not in 3D mode, you can simply adjust your brightness and contrast to a more comfortable (and accurate) level.

I can't speak for any of the other 120hz screens out there, I haven't tried them.
I will say this though, FPS games are brilliant on a 120hz LCD. Reminds me of my old CRT @ over 100hz.
