I believe the largest capacity 2.5" form factor Hard Drive is 500GB ATM.

According to Gizmodo, a company recently unveiled a 1TB 2.5" SSD. However, it is currently only available for Commercial and Military use. Not to mention that the price would be exorbitant.

Stick with the 500GB drives, that should be fine shouldn't it?

How about using a 1 to 2TB (coming soon) 3.5" desktop drive and just using cables running outside of your PS3? Ghetto, but you'd get your capacity.

Is it SATA? If so, no conversion necessary. If it is a 44 pin notebook EIDE, then you'll need an adaptor. These might or might not work for you:

SATA to 2.5" IDE Female Hard Drive Adapter Card

SATA to 2.5" IDE Male Hard Drive Adapter Card

No, you would just need an extension cable. I thought about doing the same thing, but solely for the purpose of formatting a 3.5" drive in the PS3 format so I could use it in a USB enclosure.

I then realized that I didn't need that much space.
