Dodge to launch Viper ACR-X spec racer

I for one have been really impressed with the new Viper models. Improving power, fuel economy and emissions in a giant V10? Grip that puts ultralights and AWD fanboys to shame? The price of an ACR may be nothing to sneeze at, but the car is pretty sweet IMO.

Anywho - a track-ready (as if the ACR wasn't track ready enough) version called the ACR-X will be released in early 2010. Another 100 lbs of downforce on the front end, 640HP (+40) thanks to racing headers & exhaust, full roll cage, racing seat and possibly straight up racing slicks for around $110K.

I am sort of surprised, didn't expect to see any more Viper action from Dodge. It's cool though, it's their sole surviving legendary vehicle, aside from their pretty decent trucks, Dodge pretty much blows.

Yeah...the ACR is a bit to "track" for something I'd ever want to own (unless I could afford a dedicated track car)...but you have to give Dodge credit...it's an incredible car and everyone who drives them always love how visceral they are. I'd love to take one for a spin around a track or a good mtn road.

I love my ACR vehicle. It's super grippy.
