The Nitro concept SUV sported about the auto-show circuit will become a production reality, Dodge announced today. The Dodge version will be the first mid-size SUV for the brand that pioneered the mid-size truck segment with the Dakota. A few inches longer than today's Jeep Liberty, the Nitro shares much of the Liberty's mechanicals and is expected to get its 3.7-liter V-6 engine and four-wheel-drive systems. However, in its brief release, Dodge did not confirm whether the Nitro name would stick with the production vehicle, where the vehicle would be built or when it would go on sale.
