Dodge Durango - Changing Brakes

Kelemvor

Lifer
I've replaced the brakes on my '99 grand am and didn't have too much trouble (other than beating the sh!t out of the rotor to get it off). But now my '02 durango needs it's front brakes replaced. ANyone worked on one of these before to know if iit's any harder than a normal car or anything to look out for?

I'll check with the library for a Haynes or Chiltons manual but thought I'd see if anyone had firsthand experience.

Thanks.

IIRC to get the rotors off you will need a special tool. Probably some bearing grease too. I've changed the pads but didn't have the rotor turned (I couldn't get it off). I have done 4x4 before and had to re-pack the front bearings. But that one was a manual locking hub. I have never messed with auto locking hubs like on the Durango. The Haynes is a good idea if you are going to try by yourself and have never done 4x4 before.
