did i miss where they say it'll be 15k? doesn't look good to me, but if it came in at 15k.. that'd be great for competition.. assuming dodge doesn't muck it up.

Sorry, guys. US automobiles haven't stirred my driving spirit in years. They have lost their soul. Build quality and fit and finish have diminished over the last few decades.

Yes, that's exactly my point - you're judging this car based on your negative opinion of the company that makes it. Companies can change, you know. They can improve.

It's funny that everyone else in this thread is commenting on how similar it looks to some foreign cars, but a foreign car fanboy still hates it because of the nameplate.

Just all stolen shapes from other cars. Beyond that, its underpowered. 172HP @ 2600lbs in todays market is not enough. With the SRT-4 engine than maybe.

Power is inline with the solstice/sky/miata and if you throw in the 300hp srt-4 engine it is well above the others. If they put a base price at $15k without all the power options and extra fluff I won't care. Only options I'd want are the 300hp engine and a/c anyway. You don't need power steering, door locks, or windows in a car that small. You wouldn't even need to lean over to lock/unlock the passenger door or roll the window up and down. They just add extra weight.

Got a link?

I'd say their fit and finish have gotten better in the last few decades

A link? Are you kidding? Go to a dealership, sit in a vehicle and look around.

I'll do it as soon as you get in a vehicle made 30 years ago and look around

i'm calling shens on 15K. either that, or for 15K you gets the 1.8, a grey plastic interior, no power steering, windows, locks, a/c, steel 14s, single exhaust with the other one not cut out (think accord, where the scoring to cut the second exhaust hole into the bumper was visible), and seats out of some old neon they found out back.

I would totally buy that car

Hooray for weekend fun

172HP, RWD, 2,600 lbs, $15k

Come to think of it, this is what the MR-Spyder could have been were it not missing the two key ingredients I've bolded: the 180ish horsepower they could have had with the Toyota engine that Lotus stuck in the Elise and a price to truly be a Miata competitor
