Nope, standalone, I'm almost positive.

Good price, but there are a lot of games that do what DoD does, but better. Graphics are pretty tasty, but really, that's about it.

yes its stand alone. Good price with some very fun maps. Though I like BF2 better it is worth it just to play a few rounds with friends.

What is the different between the Day of Defeat and Day of Defeat Source? I have the former.

Day of Defeat Source is a complete overhaul built on the Source engine, which powers Half-life 2. The upshot is that everything looks nicer, moves nicer, and requires a higher power computer than Day of Defeat.

I have 3 questions:
1) How long will the deal last? Thru this Saturday?
2) How does DOD:S compare with COD2, both in game play and graphic visual displays?
3) Is it a Multiplayer-online game only?
Thanks

1) No clue
2) I've played both and since DoD:S is multiplayer only its a little harder to compare. Visually, COD2 has an edge due to immersive environments but DoD:S has the very clean looking like CS:S. Basically think CS:S-style visuals and gameplay but with WW2 levels, models, etc... As far as overall multiplayer vs. COD2, well it totally kicks its ass. Its much better than COD1 which I thought had a little better mplayer than 2 (but stilll not anywhere near DoD:S mplayer). To get the best of both worlds its like you need to buy COD2 for its killer single player campaign but DoD:S for lasting and hella fun multiplayer. :)

1) Weekly sale, until COB Saturday.
2) Haven't played COD2, but visually DOD:S is nice, but is really just a prettied up version of the old one. For $10 it's worth it, but COD2 has the "bonus" of a single player mode. DOD:S can get old fast, but is easy to pick up again only a week later.
3) Yes.

Damn! I just bought this over steam after the free weekend for $20. It was worth it though. Before that I was playing CS:S and had become pretty tired of it and its players. On the whole DoD:S seems to have a much better team focus and a more mature player base so far. The levels are really pretty cool imo, they're more like the later more complicated CS:S maps like inferno, militia, nuke, port in their quality then the quick in dirty ports like dust and dust2. There's not a lot of official maps yet though.

For $10 I'd say its a great buy with out a doubt.

My brother bought this for $20 (I already had the full steam package). Oh well.

BTW, I hated DoD original, but I love DoD S. Dunno why. I've almost stopped playing CS and CS S, I like DoD S so much.

I was a big dod guy in the past. I bought HL2 at retail and was miffed that valve didnt offer a $10 upgrade to silver level for retail buyers(which would have included HL1:source as well. I really wanted DOD:S, but paying $20 for it alone just stuck in my craw.
I played on the free weekend and glad i didnt jump at $20. Its well made and all, but after playing a lot of Battlefield and especially bf2, its just not the same.
Still, you cant beat $10 at this point if you havent tried it before. you cant go wrong at that price.
