i recall some BM stores that had sales where it was 1 drive + 1 disk + 1 lovely silver case. all for $20. Im not sure exactly which store..but it was like bestbuy, compUSA, or something like that.

iomega themselves have a promotion where you buy 4 disks and the drive for $50.

if you cant find any at B&M stores...try ebay. you can probly by them for about $30. dont pay too much because you always have the option of getting the iomega $50 deal.

also..iomega had a press release for the 100meg click disks. (also called pocket zip) they will be sold for $10 each.

Iomega is giving them away with the purchase of a 4 pack of media.

(Rounding prices)

BUY.COM - Clik
Drive = $19
4 pk media = $37
S&H = $5
Total = $61

IOMEGA.COM - PocketZip
Drive = FREE
4 pk media = $50
S&H = $5
Total = $55

Thanks FishDaddy!

Your timing was perfect, I was about to buy one at staples B&M that is marked as clearance priced at $40 - without any pretty case. This was hot for me as I have plenty of Clik! disks for my digital camera, but this allows me to not take the enormous docking station when traveling.

Just a "heads up" --

The upcoming 100MB-disks that cerebusPU noted above will not work in the 40MB-PC Clik Card drives that are being cleared out for $18-$19 in preparation for release of a new platform of 100MB-PocketZip drives and HipZip players. The new drives and disks will become available very soon (3rd QTR, 2001).

March 8 Press Release by Iomega

<< "We expect Iomega's new 100MB PocketZip drive to be a sensational product for the next generation of portable digital devices," said Bruce Albertson, president and CEO, Iomega Corporation. "We've already proven the PocketZip drive's reliability in the toughest arena there is, digital audio players. Now we're giving consumers enough storage capacity to record one or more full CDs in virtually any format on an easily swappable and sharable 100MB disk. That's an irresistible deal for consumers and a compelling reason for original equipment manufacturers to migrate from expensive solid state memory cards to the PocketZip platform."

Dramatically increased magnetic storage capacity is a continuing trend in the storage industry. The PocketZip 100MB drive, which lowers the cost of removable storage to as little as ten cents per megabyte, is expected to be the catalyst for a new generation of portable devices from Iomega and OEM partners. "Devices that were impractical with solid state memory costs of $1.50 to $2.00 per megabyte become eminently practical when consumer costs with PocketZip disks fall to a dime per megabyte," said Albertson...Iomega's PocketZip 100MB drive and disks will be available internationally in the third quarter of 2001. Products based on the new drive are expected to be available for holiday sales.
