Heh, cool. It's not the first time MS doctored up a demo. The whole XBox rollout has been one big smoke and mirrors show.

that effect isn't very hard to reproduce, its just a bunch of translucent circles. The one in the game screen looks like photoshop, but it could just be representative of whats going to be in the final game.

 

Yeah, lens flare is a pretty simple effect. However, you have to wonder if the whole screenshot is not just a Photoshop hackjob.

I don't really see why it would be, being the screen shot looks like something my DreamCast can do. Perhaps the game is just not done at all. The mpeg I saw of the game looked pretty shoddy, like something from the PS1.

You also have to wonder why the speedometer is at 51mph when the guy is standing still.

And why does he look so much like eminem? Hmmmmmmmm.

Its pretty sad that they had to do this. I sure hope its just because the games are very early, not because they system cant do it.

I can't wait to show that notice to Josh Holten. Josh is the Microsoft-PR fed moron at my school who believes everything from www.xbox.com is valid and truthful, and any other site is lying about X-box if it isn't mentioned there.

Doctoring pics for product marketing representation is not new. Take a look @ the photos of the BigMac or the Big'nTasty!

I like the flash menu, though! I wonder how they made that? (Looks like liquid nitro, or something!)
