We have decided to make our family all one brand.

My wife has an HP elitebook and it has a pretty great docking station.

Other than lenovo t series and the elitebook are there any other brands that have good docking stations?

Depending on your budget and what sort of thing you want, you might look at Sony.

What I want to do is transition us all to one brand of computer with interchangeable docks. So I think the Sony seems overly propriety to that Sony model. I just have a hard time understanding between dell lenovo or HP which ones are most likely to work on todays laptops and tommorow.

I've used the same pair of Dell docking stations (one at work and one at home) with 3 generations of Precision and 2 generations of Lattitude.

I think there are some generic ones out there, this seems to sum it up well

I think both dell and lenovo are pretty good at keeping their laptops compatible with their docking stations. I can't say much for HP because I haven't own one of their laptops. Between my personal and work laptops I have used multiple dells and lenovos.
