Docking Station connection to Desktop Accessories.

I just got a lap top from work and it has a docking station. I want to be able to connect my laptop to my desktop monitor, keyboard and mouse. I am told there is a swtich that I can connect this to and easily switch between my desktop and laptop, similar to an A-B switch for printers. Any help is greatly appreciated. I asked in a couple of stores and they dont have them or know the name. Thanks
