I have a Dell WD15 docking station (180W) which I bought back in 2016. I used it with my Dell XPS 15 to connect via Thunderbolt, but then the laptop got a swollen battery which had to be replaced.
I am not sure what was the cause of the swollen battery. Thinking it could be the docking station, I never used it again.
Now, my father could benefit from this docking station to power his 13-inch HP Spectre X360 and connect it to an external monitor. However, I am afraid the docking station could harm his laptop and result in a swollen battery.
Is there such a risk?
Thanks.
