Ive looked and looked and so far ive had very little luck in finding a latop that matches my criteria. Im wanting a dockable laptop that had a graphics card capable of playing a game if I wanted but I dont want to spend over 1k for it. Seems there are tons of dockable laptops with the 4500M Intel video card or there are a ton of laptops the dont have the ability to to use a docking station.

I know there are aftermarket docking stations that will work on "ANY" laptop. I dont want to deal with cables. I want to drop the laptop in and work, snap it out and leave.

If you can think of any models (doesnt have to be brand new) Id be much appreciated.
Ive been ranking the laptop video cards via this site:

Um on black friday I picked up a 4 Gig RAM Core 2 Duo ATI HD 4650 1 Gb (HP Pavillion) from newegg.

Linky: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834157061

According to hp the model I bought works with their QuickDock KN744AA#ABA and their Media Docking Station KG461AA#ABA.

It's not a screamer, but it's enough for me. A Mobility HD 4650 is a decent class 2 video card at least per notebookcheck.net.

The newegg website does have a few starting around $750-$800 now that are similar.

Just go to Notebooks/laptops and use the side menus to pick which vid card you want.

Hope this helps.

When looking at laptops there are always trade offs. Most laptops with the type of docking you want are designed for buisness. So skimping on the video card is one of the many ways they keep prices resonable. I'm afraid the best you'll be able to do is buy a gaming capable Laptop that is compatible with one of the cble oriented docking stations. Ones like the model mentioned above do use a cable in the docking but its a single cable and no worse then releasing the clip of a standard docking station.

Lenovo Thinkpad T-series or the Dell E6400/E6500 series of notebooks. The downside is that most of the grapics card solutions for these are geared toward CAD and aren't really gaming chipsets.
