Try it, keeping the dock to the right is just... way better.

Tried left first but doesn't work as well because web text is to the left usually, so feels cluttered.

When at bottom auto-hide is a must with the limited vertical real estate on a laptop, but quite annoying if you're often in between apps, not necessary with it to the right.

Get rid of the glass dock, there's a terminal command that makes it a generic dashboard-like black. Oh and check the option for minimizing into icon,

Salvation.

Nope, wrong, sorry. Super small on the left is the way to go.

I've always preferred my icons on my desktop to the right, so it just feels odd to have my dock there. Not to mention I'm on a desktop and I have two monitors so it won't stick to the right of the first. It goes all the way to the right of the second.

i'm gonna try it out, to the right already seemed annoying after 1 min because like Kmax i have a few icons on my desktop to the right, but the extra horizontal real estate would be appreciated.

Dock - Bottom + Auto Hide
Then I use spaces to manage applications and switch between them with better touch tool/4 finger swipe.

I dock to the left on my MBP at work, but only because I have two additional monitors to the right.

Autohide at bottom and just switch between apps with keyboard shortcuts. Easy. I do need to adjust my hot corners though, because I accidentally activate them sometimes when accessing icons at the edges of the dock.

depends a lot on resolution...I like it at the bottom and just a notch down. I don't use my MBP as a desktop though. It's my work/travel machine.

I have a 15" mid 2010. I wish I had the higher res 2011 model.
