Dock GAIM?

ICQ crashes on my wife's computer and Trillian's "free" beta stinks compared to the full version.

I saw in this month's Maximum PC that they've taken the "Softy" award away from Trillian and gave it to GAIM.

I installed GAIM on her computer and... maybe I missed it... I don't see how to dock the thing. Did I miss something?

Having it run in the background isn't a big deal, but she keeps "accidently" closing it and doesn't think to reopen it.

Any help or should I just try another program? Register another copy of Trillian for her for $25?

Under Tools / Preferences, enable the WinGaim plugin. You should get a new set of options that allow you to dock your buddy list.

Nothing like looking through the program's preferences to see what it can do before asking how, huh

Actually, I DID look through the preferences first. I was looking for such terms as "docking," etc.

Who'd think that enabling a plug-in would turn on the ability to dock.

I'll try that tonight and let you know if it does the trick. ;)

Oh hey. Look at that. The free version is no longer the buggy beta. Well crap... What the hell did I give them $25 for! :) I don't use Rendezvous/video chat, etc. In fact, I use the Aikon3 skin which doesn't even work correctly with the new features of 3. *sigh*

Well... Now that everyone in the office is using Trillian 3 Basic and loving it, I guess I'll install that on her machine. :p
