Well, looks like my new 3070 that I just bought is DOA. I thought I was at first just dealing with the displayport problem that requires firmware update on the card, but I am pretty certain that is not the problem now.

I get nothing on any displayport connection. I also do not get anything when using a HDMI cable, or a displayport to DVI, or HDMI to DVI connection. I tried all three displayport connections. I tried 3 different displayport cables and 2 different HDMI cables. I also tried on two different computers. One with a modern/current gen AMD CPU/motherboard/RAM and 650W PSU (a little tight but should have at least passed POST/UEFI to the display), and the other an old Intel based system (however it has a fairly new Seasonic Titanium 1000W PSU, which should have had no problems providing enough power for the card).

And by getting nothing, I really mean it. The monitors do not even detect the displayport as having a cable connected. The HDMI ports come up as no signal (but does detect the cable), when converting the displayport to DVI, it gets no signal, and when converting the HDMI to DVI it comes up as no signal. I tried Windows7 and Windows 10 (the first with no drivers installed, the second with the latest Nvidia drivers preinstalled since it had a Nvidia 1060 in it).

So I am pretty sure the card is DOA. Just wanted to check here to see if someone else has any suggestions or seen similar issues before I attempt to RMA. The card is specifically a MSI RTX 3070 Ventus 2X OC (selected this as it was a card that was not longer than the ATX boards as that is all that will fit in my HTPC box that it will eventually live in replacing that 1060 once I build my new main system when the next gen cards are released).

I would return it or RMA it.

Yeah, I started the RMA. I just wanted to check to make sure I wasnt missing something that was happening with others.

As for the Intel system, no it doesnt have an iGPU... There is a 3rd system I could possibly put it into that does have an iGPU but I would need hack together a way to power the card (it is a small form factor dell, but it does have a full 16x PCIe slot, just doesnt have a PSU with support for GPUs)... Really not worth the hassle I think.
