Do your roommates talk in their sleep?

I'm always the last one to go to bed, so I always witness my roommates' weird sleeping habits. It's kinda freaky cuz one minute it will be dead silent and the next she'll have an outburst like "oh my god, i wasn't even thinking" and make weird noises. (that just happened)

my roomate hasn't used soap or shampoo all year, nor done the laundry.

And he talks in his sleep.

So there! :p

My roommate used to laugh like like a psycho and then finish it off with "sweet" when he was sleeping. Kinda scared the hell out of me...

I actually can sleep with my eyes open and have unconcious episodes where people believe I'm awake. The eyes open usually occurs when I am very tired but trying to stay awake. I really freaked a roommate out one time. He came home from the bars and I was sitting on the couch asleep. He said he talked to me for like 10 minutes before he realized I was asleep.

The unconcious episodes occur when I'm really tired and someone tries to wake me up. This usually is just me answering questions or talking on the phone. In the morning I remember none of it and it really ticks people off sometimes. Once when I was younger, I was told to go to bed and I was found 2 hours later asleep standing beside my bed. Didn't remember any of it in the morning.

My fiance has screaming episodes every once in awhile. Man, that took some getting used to. First time, I almost jumped out of my skin. Now it's sort of fun, since she remembers nothing. If I walk in the room when she's asleep she will sit up and scream and jerk all around. Very funny stuff. The worst is when she has conversations in her sleep. She will start what I believe to be a normal conversation and I will begin to talk to her. About 2 or 3 sentences in it becomes very apparent that she is just ranting nonsense. Like,
Her: "Did you take the dog out?"
Me: "yes."
Her: where did you go?
Me: I didn't go anywhere, what do you mean?
Her: The house is running under the couch fence..
Me: WTF!!!!!

Lol! funny stories here.

I talk in my sleep, usually a sentence or 2, then it turns into mumbling nonsense. I've only incriminated myself once that I know of, talking about a "cute guy" that was going to be at an office party. The next morning my husband asked me "who is Victor?" Hah! I was surprised.

I also wake up screaming, trying to madly swat spiders off my body, and I don't wake up until I've run all the way downstairs in a panic.

lol I've never seen any of the stuff in this thread. :) My sleeping 'talent' is that I filter out outside sounds, but inside sounds no matter how faint or even simply movement wakes me up.

I go to ucla. most everyone here has to share a room even if they live in an apartment. it sucks! (i want my own room :()

Anyways, some of these stories reminded me of this other time. one time i was sleeping and suddenly i woke up, and my roommate was standing right next to my bed. i was like uhhh do you need something? and she didn't say anything and just went back to her desk where she was studying and put her head down on the desk and slept. THEN, another time she told me she was studying and the next minute she woke up and she was sleeping at the foot of my bed with me in it!! and also one more time she fell asleep standing up too. i think that's so funny. i love my freaky roommates!!! :)

Funny stories, keep it up guys.

I have a friend who we call "Princess" and during one girls' sleepover, I heard her mutter, "yes your majesty" while asleep. Went with her nick so it was funny. Another gal is a very active sleeper when the temperature is warm; she was sharing a bed in a motel with another friend once when we went on a trip and wound up head at the foot of the bed on the opposite side from where she'd started, talking to herself all the while.

My roommate very rarely talks in his sleep, when he does sleep, which seems to be pretty rare now adays. I talk in my sleep quite a lot, more so at home. I am very active when I sleep. I even held a conversation asleep with my dad once when I was younger.

I friend of mine's whole family has a nice history of sleepwalking. One of his cousins was a diver for the high shool team and started bouncing on his bed and did one of his nice dives......directly into a dresser. 50 stitches later he was good to go.

My friend has been known to take showers at 3AM, completely asleep, get dressed, and go back to bed.

I'm lucky enough to have my own room. Next year in my apartment and thereafter too. :) I guess I'm just lucky like that.

heh...talking in my sleep is actually when i know i've been working too long for the week. When i used to work at the bagel restaurant, in my sleep, i'd ask "customers" if they wanted cream cheese on their bagel or ask if it was a double or single shot of espresso. That was the start of my troubles.

While i was still working at bestbuy, my brothers told me i'd always try to sell them an extended service plan in my sleep. They found some humor in that.

Now that i'm at kmart, i usually say "blah blah blah...next guest in line can step over to the self scans" or something like that. I don't remember saying any of this, but my family sure does ;)
