Do your dogs like the snow?

As I was out breaking my back scraping away 2+ feet of mother nature's fury, I took my dogs out to get some much needed exercise. I've got 2, a purebred lab and a mutt about the same size as a lab. The mutt hates the snow, takes one look and huddles in the nearest semi-dry spot looking for anyone to open the door to let her back in. But the lab hits the snow and poof! Instant puppy! She won't generally get up for any reason other than to eat, hell if the house was on fire she'd just roll over and start snoring again. She and my neighbors Malamute had a hell of a time, they played for about 2 hours without even stopping to rest. Not the sort of thing a guy wants to see when he's leaning on his shovel gasping for breath and hoping that if that's a heart attack he's feeling and praying that his body drops someplace visible so it's not plowed under until spring.

Our Rhodesian Ridgeback goes absolutely bonkers. We had a couple snowfalls last year in Texas, and she never wanted to come in. Unfortunately for her, we aren't going to see snow for the next 2.5 years while we're on Okinawa!

I have a pug and the snow was higher than her. She was hopping the snow like a bunny. Sometimes she stops and eats some snow, and when she looks up her face is covered in it since her face is flat. :D We have to go get her because she gets herself really really cold but enjoys it too much to come in on her own.

My German Sheppard loves the snow. Like you said, instant puppy again.

Only problem is she thinks everything that is covered in snow is our property:eek: Oh well, she doesn't go too far, she just runs around as fast as she can and slides in the snow:D

My Beagle likes it a lot, but eventually his paws start to hurt.

He really loves sand, though. He goes nuts at the beach, running around in circles at top speed. :)

Mine like it but they don't go crazy over. They seem to be more into mud though and its been raining or wet out now for almost two weeks. My house if filthy because there isn't much point in cleaning till it drys up outside.

All my dogs, including my current bitch (the formal English word for a female dog -- noted here a service to the over reactive and ignorant) Cinnamon, have absolutely loved the snow.

In fact, cold weather in and of itself has always been enough to make every hound of mine -- from my late stately Great Dane Bogart to my 13 year old rescued mixed breed The Cinnamon Girl -- into a frolicking pup again.

Two feet of snow doesn't do much for my cock (the formal and proper English work for a male chicken) Rainbow, though. He gets to ride this out in my boiler room off the garage, with occasional clucking trips to the kitchen! :)

Mine loves it!

First time we went to the beach, he thought it was snow. Grabbed a BIG mouthfull and shook it around like he did with the snow....

YUCK

My dog loves it - if I kick snow iin his face he goes crazy and starts running around for hours.
