Do you "work" off of an Android tablet?

Meaning, do you use an Android tablet for actual real productivity work throughout the day and if so what types?

I have an Asus Transformer Infinity which I bought at the end of 2012 and it's mostly been a novelty. I was thinking of buying the keyboard for it and trying to replace a work laptop...

I have used Android tablets to type up papers and reports for my wife when she was still in college. It worked just fine for me.

Really though it depends on what you're definition of "work" is.

AFAIC, touch devices aren't suitable for creation. I used to use a tablet to review blueprint pdfs, and comps in the field, but I now use an Android phone. Was just thinking the other day, I don't have any real use for a tablet anymore. I used mine for books and a mp3 player, but my phone does those fine. If I need to do real work, I do it on a full computer.

Tablets are for:
1) surfing the internet, while
a. taking a shit
b. laying in bed
c. playing video games and don't want to alt+Tab (or have two monitors)

2) Playing Plants v. Zombies

3) watching porn

4) watching (for me) an Amazon Prime movie while smoking a cigar near the window

I have NEVER used, nor will use a tablet of any kind for work.

Not never not gonna happen - ever.

For actual work give me a PC with a mouse and keyboard.

I just bum around with my tablet. They really aren't work-oriented devices. Yeah you may be able to make them "work" for work, but that is evidently not the main goal of them.

Can't do it, it's just a terrible, terrible user experience. I bring my laptop to work when I need to collect or compile data (building maintenance, minus the simple stuff) despite us having Android tablets around. Thinking about getting Surface Pro 3.

My work (tutoring) depends on my tablet. It's incredibly useful for obvious reasons. I do web development and programming on my PC, though.

I use the Surface Pro 2 quite a bit for actual work, but that's more like a laptop than a tablet. Can't imagine doing the same on any Android device.

Reading and responding to emails is certainly easy enough. Have used Skype for meetings. I've done real work in a pinch. As Capt Caveman mentioned, Teamviewer app works well enough to remote into my machine at work.

If I know I need to do actual work like coding or data management, etc... ahead of time, then I bring the laptop.

I have a nexus 7 and only reason I got it was to test a game I developed for android. Haven't used it since then.

I RDP to my jobs network all the time on my Tab Pro 8.4 and BT mouse and KB. Works great for that.

this, buy a surface pro and laugh at the limitations imposed by other ecosystems.

Nope. I use Android tablets for web surfing in bed and media playback. I could use it for work since I use Google Drive and Docs for everything but I have Chromebook for that. Chromebook is my work and bill pay computer.

The tf700 infinity is super slow. Buy a new tablet instead of a keyboard. I used to have one and it was much slower than the hp touchpad I had before it.

I agree with what some of the others are saying---it depends on what the work is. Some things you can do but they are incredibly tedious. Other things, not so much.

Shit, I better stop using my tablet for work. Should I stop using my smartphone too? Since, I can remote into my work laptop with it and do work.
