they have free food, great prizes and this time they have
a employee purchase plan
here

intel pentium III 800 and Intel D815EEAA Desktop Board for $199

not a bad deal if you work for one of the companies above.

I went to the one in spring and they gave out a lot of cool prizes
I think it would be worth it to just go for the free food
and the cpu and mb bundle purchase.

good luck

<<EDIT>> list was updated. sorry I missed a few.

Dang, that would be a hot deal. I might even go to work for one of those companies for a few days just to qualify!

Well that was really annoying when directcom was bumping up really really old crap... Unless you're a historian I don't see the benefit of that type of bumping.

My official department is cell phones, DSS, PDAs, etc...but I float around because I'm one of the few people in sales who knows the products. The other department I'm trained in is media, which includes software, so I'm assuming I'm eligable. Hope this works.

MYBUDS,
all they require is a recent paystub from where you work.
and they aren't even strict about that. on the website it says
you must have a recent paystub to enter. however, last time I
went they just asked me my name and let me in. when I tried to
show them my paystub, they didn't even look and said "it's ok"

good luck,

this is certainly a hot deal for those of us that work at one of these stores

question: where exactly do you register for Intel Retail representative (not the chips and tips one). ?

Hehe, I worked at Intel as a Sales/Marketing Rep., the training will be host on Nov. 4th (for Bay Area, CA). Because of limited quantity of the chip and board, It's a first come first serve bases so if you want to get this deal, you have to sign up ASAP. There is only one training in bay area so if you missed it there will be no second chance. So good luck!!!:)

Mods?

Please lock this thread. Last thing we need is people trying to screw intel that don't put up with the retail BullSh*t, trying to get in on this deal (we earned this offer). I currently have the PIII500 that intel offered two or three sessions ago. Now it is the 800EB PIII and sure as the sun sets this is a good deal for some. Others Need to let this one go! :)
By the way raj, you are correct they are very lenient on door checking, however if you didnt preregister. it wont matter. Most events are closed by now. The real checking from intel comes when you fill out the form for the processor/mobo combo. Yes people ...the is a form that you can access on the world wide web for direct shipping of this deal. I do doubt that anyone who is legit would be dumb and give you the link as it is only accessable via your registration number. One number per order.

Work for Office Depot as part-time. No more session availabe in my area - Boston, so I have to fly out to East coast - Portland to attend. Good thing is I have a business trip to Portland within same week. Lucky me. :) Thanks Raj for this kind of deal. I know Intel run this $199 deal once a while. Anybody have direct link to Intel site to order the CPU & board for $199? What about AMD?

Looks like not much has changed. People are still flaming one another. I guess the thread created by the mods aren't working, are they?

yeah flammers gotta go, i mean if you wrok there, fine get it, if you can get one somewhat unreasonably, well life will pay you back somehow and where it hurts, so people, just let them learn from their own mistakes and some just plain stop crying already...justice is somehow always served
