Do X, Y, Z things and you're guarenteed that uber sword, super tech, increase in stats, chest of never ending gold or princess that you will marry and live happily ever after.
ie: goto college + get degree = financially stable for rest of life.
In a video game, you know the rules, and thru trial and error know the optimum path to beating the game. and the rules never change w/o notice. almost every patch and new version tells you what to expect.
And if your character isnt turning out the way you want, just hit the reset button and start from scratch, but w/the memory of what you did in your previous life.
or roll back the character from a saved version and try again from that point. (Kinda like the movie Groundhog Day.)
