I wear a seatbelt because I do not want to go through the windshield the next time some jerk runs into me. My stepmother was not wearing a seatbeat one night, fell asleep while driving and and woke up in the hospital with the left side of her face cut opened. Now her face has a disfiguring scar.

I always wear the seatbelt, unless I am moving my car in the parking lot for whatever reason.
Also, everyone riding in my car is required to wear a seatbelt, until the ride comes to a complete stop :)

I wear mine even if I'm re-parking my car.
I request that all my passengers wear a seat belt too (there's a blinking light on my console that tells me if a passenger isn't buckled up).

My cars don't go into "drive" until every seatbelt is fastened. I've had a lot of experience with kids who don't want to wear their seatbelts. "My mom doesn't make me." "I don't care what your mom does, if you don't put on your seatbelt this car isn't going to move".

I always wear my seatbelt, it is just habit for me. My friend, however, never wears his. Over Christmas break we went to pizza hut with some friends and i picked him up. For some reason he wore his that day. What do you know we got in an accident. He always wears his seatbelt now. I think he pry woulda been pretty messed up if he hadn't had it on. The collision was all impact, no brakes. Didn't have time to hit the brakes. All of a sudden she was there.

~~~~~Please don't be offended by the page if you look, it's an inside joke between me and my friends.~~~~~
In love with a Cavalier and want to know how to get parents to cough up $45 a month for cable internet. Uhm, I better not comment!
I would like to know what that woman's car looked like. What was she driving?
Not in love with the cavalier, just taking what i can get. My brother got a camaro, i got a cavalier. I think my parents hate me.
I don't know what the girl was driving. It was a four door compact car though. Her front axle was messed up but not as much damage as my car.
I always wear mine :) My mom is too lazy to use it during short trips, but I tell her it's free insurance. I feel......vulnerable without mine.
The only time I forget is when I'm riding my dad's van, which has an automatic shoulder belt. I sometimes forget the lap belt on the van.... :eek:
I wear my seatbelt always...my former GF got me in the habit.
Before that I only wore it occasionally.
I understand the importance of seatbelts, but I have been in 3 accidents where I was the passenger...all 3 times I was not wearing a seatbelt, and survived without a scratch. Mostly I was just lucky though.
The first accident, I was a little kid and we were in a car that didn't even have seatbelts. A semi ran a stop sign and plowed into the car we were in nearly head on. My mom layed down in front of me and protected me. Her face hit the dashboard and she still has some pretty nasty scars from it.
The second one I was driving with a friend who rear ended another car that stopped too quickly in front of him...we were probably going about 30mph when we hit. I saw it coming and braced myself.
The third one I was driving with my uncle, my aunt (his sister) and I were visiting him and he was pretty excited, so he was talking to us and not paying much attention to his driving, he went through a red light, and the van that hit us was speeding, so while we were only going about 20, they were going 45. The car spun around and did about a 180, but again I braced myself and held on for dear life...was completely unhurt.
Force of habit makes me put my seatbelt on all the time. I would never go anywhere without one on.
