Do you watch movies on TV when you have the DVD?

I always think it's funny that I, and I'm sure lots of other people, do this.

I'm flipping channels and I find a movie that I like so I turn it on. This means I get to watch an edited movie with lots of commercials and subpar picture quality when I could go grab the DVD of the movie and watch that. No idea why I do this. I guess because then I can channel flip during commercials maybe?

The world may never know...

I definately do this. I think what's happening is that if I watch a movie on DVD I feel like I have to dedicate myself to it for the duration. Whereas when it's playing on TV I feel okay casually watching it, perhaps while doing other things.

My wife does it way more often than I would. I guess it's just the convenience of it being right there.

Nope, I'll grab the DVD if I really feel like watching it, otherwise a channel flipping I will go.

Well, if it's a movie i like, i can then capture it in 1080i or 720p ;)

So yeah, it's worth it for those real classics you'd like to have in glorious HD ;)

Ya, if I really like it. Always get a kick out of the edits and sometimes scratch my head at the cutout parts. I usually do this when the movie is on late at night(after midnight). Don't do it when it's on a US channel though, way too many commercials and the little previews/reviews they show from the movie are a PITA. Just show the god damn mother******g movie and real commercials mofos!! :|:|:|

I do it too. However, I end up wanting to fast forward through boring parts and will throw the DVD in :)

No, If I decide to watch the movie, I will put in the DVD. Minus the ads, I'll finish it before the broadcast movie finishes.

I'll change the channel. However, 95% of what I watch on TV is what my Tivo has already recorded.

I watch nothing on TV. Commercials piss me off. I only watch DVD's. So for me, I would have to say that I don't watch movies on TV if I have the DVD.

BINGO!

More often than not when I actually try to watch a DVD I end up staring at my collection indecisively for a while before wandering off to do something else. It's like when I can actually choose from several hundred I can find a reason not to watch any of them, and then end up watching one on television anyway.

I dunno why I do this...

Well, I do, until the first commercial, then I just say Fvsk it, and either turn it off or put DVD in.

Well, that wouldn't be entirely correct though as I haven't turned on my TV in 18 months - there is nothing ever good on...

It's too much work to go find the DVD, put it in the player, skip past the 450,000 commercials on the DVD, and watch it.
