Do you wash new underwear before you wear them?

Serious poll. Most underwear you find in stores comes in plastic packages. So do you wash them before you wear them, or not? I always have, but some people think it's unnecessary. What say you?

I fashion my underwear from the tanned hides of my vanquished foes. They are not microwave or dishwasher safe.

Yeah. I don't think they're full of AIDS or anything when they come from the store, but they just seem more "broken in" or something if I wash them first.

new clothes have lots of chemicals on them from processing and for better keeping in shipping and storage. i always wash them to get some of that gunk off.

Used to protect /hide your private parts. I don't wash them when new. ^_^

All clothing is washed before I wear it except socks. There is nothing like a brand new sock!

I remember reading somewhere the residual dyes/chemicals on brand new clothing are very bad for you and can be absorbed through your skin so you should always wash them first.

Would anyone like to confirm?
