Do you want to see a satellite view of your house?

I was using google map to find someplace and choose satellite view. I was impressed. I used to do this 1.5 years ago, but the views are improving. Take a look at places you've lived or property you've owned. I kayak so I looked at the Trinity River in Willow Creek, CA, and I followed it east looking at each individual rapid, pretty trippy. The White House was fun to look at too.

Go to Google Maps. Look up a place. Chose satellite view and zoom in.

Hey, I've really been on the web for ten years. I've even started web based businesses.

You are not adding any credibility to your case.

That said, thanks for re-posting. I hadn't checked out Google maps in a while, and I see they've now updated my home town's map. :) I can now zoom right in.

Now for a game of "Guess what this is"...

Wow, he's right...

It hasn't been that long since I looked at my area, and it's all updated.. much higher resolution.

My old hometown is so back woods you can't get sattelite images of the place, it just shows the highway that runs through. If you try to zoom in it gives you the "info is not available for this area."

Eli: "Honey? Do you recognize this car?"
Mrs. Eli: "Ummm... heh... no?"

OMG this is amazing! When did they release this? How are they doing it? Do they have webcams on planes taking pictures or something? I don't recall Google running a fleet of special camera planes. How does it all sync up? Do they work with Rand MacNally or something? Or maybe the Thomas Corporation?

Next you are going to tell me that you can run Windows on a Mac!

I have to zoom out one notch from full in to see my house. Otherwise I get the "No Image Available" error.

Image is definitely from within the past couple years because a tree we took down isn't showing.
