At 47, I'm not really as into it as I was 10 years ago, when my alcoholic ex and I were doing the engagement dance. NOW< if I were to be involved with someone who I felt would be a good mother, I might be inclined to change my mind.
I don't really relish the idea of being 65 on their 18th birthday, though, regardless.
But if my SO wanted children, we might just have to bite the bullet and let it happen.

I had one when I was 20, one when I was 26, and one when I was 31. I'm 36 now and the muffin shop is closed!

Actually, I'm glad I had them young and well spaced apart. I have had the privelege of enjoying each one of them (one was always going off to Kindergarten when the new kid arrived) and I also had th chance to really recover and get back into good shape each time.

I even like other people's children. What I like about kids is, for the most part, they haven't learned to put on all the BS that adults do.

For example.... yesterday, a colleague of mine asked one of her students,

"What would you do if you didn't understand something the teacher was trying to teach you?"

and the kid answered, "I'd raise my hand and ask to go to the bathroom."

I love that kind of honesty!
