We do that for every politician. When was the last time we had a decent, honest president with integrity? We joke about Ted Cruz, but what about Hillary? I dont personally know a single liberal that is happy with that turd. But they will all line up and vote for her regardless.

Because she's still better than ANY of the alternatives from the repubs.

That is where deciding which end of the turd is clean comes into play.

Unfortunately, money is what drives the elections and all politics in this country. It's why we can't have any real choices or honest politicians. Until we do away with 501-Cs, Citizens United, and K Street, our only choices are the lesser of two evils.

I think our two party system conditions us to view candidates as the lesser of two evils. Money of course plays a huge part. If the people can break away from the two party system our election cycles would open up imo. In a country that values the free market we have pigeon holed ourselves into two suppliers of elected representatives. Not a great atmosphere for ideas.

This election cycle is especially depressing for me. Republicans are a god damn circus show of fringe freaks. I will be voting 3rd party, most likely libertarian. Or I may just write in mickey mouse.

On a side note. Im actually impressed with Bernie Sanders from the democrats. He could get my vote if he would lay off the whole border\mexicans stealing our jerbs position.

Bernie would get my vote as well, unfortunately unless a billionaire gets behind him (doubtful), he has little chance of being the nominee.

Are Texas Republicans who elected him proud of Ted Cruz as a Senator?

They're crazy for him. You should have seen Texas in jubilation when Cruz played a big role in shutting down the government and costing the country millions in getting it started again.

I am still pulling for the FAKE Indian.

http://reason.com/archives/2012/07/09/5-fake-indians-who-were-more-convincing

Elizabeth for President.

I want to see a Pow Wow on the white house lawn!

I can prove I am part Native American, but I would have to go back to my grandfathers Great Great Grandmother. Even that is kind of convoluted and she was just part Cherokee.

Sounds like you don't have any policy disagreements with her, since you are attacking her personally.

The Santa Anna Syndrome is alive and well in Texas. Cruz, having a severe debilitating case compels him to believe that he is the last man standing at the Alamo surrounded by a horde of maniacal godless Democrats and will single handedly save the nation by infecting every one of those heathen that comes within range of his dementia. ;)

It's the only logical reason I can come up with that explains his erratic and delusional behavior. He's already infected or has been infected by those that put him in office.

Let's just hope a cure is found to help the poor man, lest he declines even further and enters the terminal stage of the condition aptly monikered as the "Palin Phase" where he starts to see Russia from his back yard, compulsively winks and keeps repeating the phrase "you betch'a".

I find Ted Cruz particularly infuriating because he is a highly intelligent constitutional lawyer who knowingly says completely stupid things that he knows full well are completely stupid. He is pandering to the lowest common denominator (that, or he is diagnosably crazy, which isn't a better alternative). He has no respect for senior leadership or even for our system of government (at least where the judicial branch is concerned). I would be hard pressed to think of an announced candidate who would be a more disastrous choice for President than Ted Cruz, and I am including Donald Trump in that analysis.

I'd take Trump over Cruz.

Hell, so would I. Trump is a pig headed narcissist, but he's not crazy, and doesn't believe half the shit he's saying, but rather knows how to play to his current audience. Cruz's high innate intelligence combined with his bat shit crazy deeply held convictions make him downright scary. He and his type are a shit stain on the Republican brand, which has more than enough shit stains on it at the moment.

Trump has flip flopped on so many issues over the years you just know he doesn't believe much of what he says, he says it to get attention. I'd take an attention whore over Cruz's "bat shit crazy deeply held convictions" most any day.

Gather up enough shit stains, farted out dingle berrys and skid marks and what you end up with is a fat steaming turd hotdog sandwich, much like how the 17 Repubs vying for the nomination would look and smell if they all gathered up and stood next to each other shoulder to shoulder while wearing dark honey colored hats, red tinted shades, green bowties, brown t-shirts and light yellow slacks. ;)

Trump and Cruz are playing the the base. The tribe who rubs shit in their hair, as I've heard them described and find accurate.

Trump and Cruz know how to get the base riled up and frothing with rage, and they perform well.

Many people are intelligent and say stupid shit. Cruz is a grifter pretending to be a true believer. Trump is just up there havin' fun. Go Trump!

So now he’s a kind of outsider (in his party, not in race) because of supporting Trump. But he’s the one man with a beautiful articulation, he has style, he’s comparably young and he has strong points on many controversial provocating issues. Ain’t such product as Cruz is great for our country as a president?

We could do worse.
