Do you use the same password everytime you sign up for something?

I have three or four passwords that I use. My "good" password is a random sequence of 10 letter and numbers. I use that for important stuff. The others are shorter that I use for forums and what not.

No, I dont. All my friends seem to use things like "user" or "123" or nothing at all, though.

I have a standard "base" for a password
for example, it could be 2w3ePQ4

hotmail would be h2w3ePQ4
anandtech would be at2w3ePQ4
etc. I just add at the beginning or end of the basic password.

You could probably do something like that, but program hotkeys or something on your keyboard to do the base part... then it could be a matter of 2 or 3 keys to type in a complicated password
